sooo, last Wednesday morning, I look at the clock, and realized it was 10 minutes past the start of Bens swim lesson. I was super annoyed at myself for forgetting.
He has these classes the same two mornings every week.

Fast forward to this morning, I was fairly organized, and then things started to go down hill from there. All of a sudden, we were tight for time. We all get out the door, I throw Brody in the buggy, no shoes, but that was OK, I was coming right home after.

I was enjoying the short walk from the school, casually waving at friends driving by... (I am hyping this up a little)

I get into our driveway, and that's when it hits me! His lesson! Starts in 10 minutes. I throw Brody and Ben into the van, run in the house and grab his swimsuit. Of course I can't find his earplugs, I checked EVERYWHERE too.

I go to the van, and I admit I was feeling stressed. After a frustrating conversation, we found them, and left the house.

We get there, and lessons started 5 minutes ago. We slam him into his suit, and struggle to get his plugs in, and walk out to the deck.

I cant find his class. I don't see his teacher either.

I went over to a group, asked the instructor if he by chance was subbing today, and no. I go over to the other end, see a group with a teacher, and told Ben to jump in, and join his class.
His teacher says, "hey there buddy, whats your name?"
That's when I realized that this wasn't his class either.

So, I guess when I missed last class, I didn't realize, it was his LAST one.

and so, all the struggle to get that sweet child to his lesson - for nothing. I was sweating!

Ben was so cute he says, "that's OK Mum, now we can go on our date!!"

black and white, its a radio, a lantern and a flashlight. It is rechargeable, and it plugs into your ciggarette outlet as well. It is the ugliest form of electronics I have seen, and my man is as giddy as a school girl, at the thought of bringing it to work tonight to put it in the control room - all so that he can watch his beloved Canuckleheads beat the Ducks.
He cracks me up!

ewww. what a waste of sweet time and money. ran (drove) to starbucks, for a nice little pick -me - up, and thought i would try a new drink.
i cant even finish it. wayyyy sweet.

nothing new over here, i am still nursing a very sore back from last Tuesday. i will try class tonight, and hope for the best.

here is another 'Ben funny':

he asked me the other day, "whats Brody's password?"

I said that he didn't have one, and he was like "Mom, of course he does,"

this went on for a few minutes, and I finally got smart and asked Ben what his password was.

he said "David".

So in his little mind, a middle name and a password are one and the same.

my inspiration has left the building. I am however, having fun with facebook. Its a time sucker though.
So, here is my thoughts/questions for the day:

Olivia is in grade 2. She is in a gr2/3 split. The gr.3's, are starting a new thing, called, "current events". They pick an article from the newspaper,, and do a little right up on, and then lead a discussion in front of the class.

Here's my bone to pick:

The first day, a boy brings in his homework, and he did it on the University shooting that just happened. So he brought in the clipping, and they all read the article, and talked about it.

I am torn on how I feel about this.

-I want to shelter her from things she doesn't need to know at her age
-I don't want her to be in fear, is this kind of thing going to instill fear?
-we don't watch violent things - they don't see it on t.v
-she is only 7, does she need to know how much evil there is in the world?
-how important is "current events"? to this age?

At the same time, I don't want to over do it. I want to be balanced, I want her to be balanced.

Whats your opinion?

Ben just came into the room, with an air of authority, and said:

"Me and Dad are gonna watch this movie- its for adults. And kids."

He is trying to be like us when we say he can't watch our shows.

He loves the helmet, and puts both hands on it when you ask where his helmet is. Of course I, the blogger wanted to capture this great family time - and so I am not in the pictures. Was great though, riding all together. Ben kept saying, "this is the best day of my life!"
Getting ready to roll.

First bike ride! He absolutely loved it. He smiled the whole time. Too cute.

"fitness week" at the dojo equals 1 very very VERY sore me.
Between Sunday and today, I have done 3100+ jumping jacks. That is on top off all the other stuff. Next week is "push up week", and I don't mean the bra type ;)

Liv has joined track and field, and I cant believe her ambition. Yesterday after school there was a long distance run, and she wanted to do it. The youngest was a few grade 4 kids, and then her. I didn't want to send her off, and not know how far she could run, and have the group have to wait - so...
yup. I ran it too.
I haven't ran in probably 10 years. Seriously. I hate running. But I did it! I walked a bit for sure, but it felt like a mini challenge, that I did! I don't know the distance, except to say that its the Terry Fox route.
We did one lap, and the teacher sort of said to Liv, "you did great! Thanks for coming, we meet again tomorrow." They were going to do one more lap, and assumed she would pass on it.
Not my child!! She ran a second one! I on the other hand, bowed out gracefully, and met her at the finish.
What a trooper. She is doing it AGAIN TODAY. On top of her also having Fitness week at karate, she has done more jumping jacks than I have!!!

The 'Weekend of Leah', is over, and it was such a great weekend! Here is my point form post about it:

Thursday - my Mum came at 2, and we left on our little expidition. We started off with an early dinner at BP, and enjoyed an entire meal just being the two of us. Then we went a grabbed a Starbies, and walked around the strip mall. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and we took advantage! We made a stop at a little carnival, and then we went a test drove a Smart. That was so super cool. They are the weirdest liitle vehicles. After that I went to karate. I was nervous about my upcoming grading, and felt the need to go. It was nice because usually Fern is home with the kiddies and doesnt get to watch. From there we headed to my parents trailer, and went for a late night swim and hot tub. We watched an episode of 'Lost', and called it a day.

Friday - We left for the States early, as my birthday wish was to head to the outlets in Tualip, WA. My man was such a trooper. We shopped from 11 till 9pm! He was so good, carried my bags, sat and watched while I tried on clothes, trying to pick between to simialiar pairs of jeans - and I know he was probably thinking, "just pick the pair u like the best, and lets get on with it!". But no, he was sooo sweet.
We had dinner at this cazy buffet restaurant called "the royal fork" in Mount Vernon, that I had wanted to show him. There was like 8 buffet tables! Insane.
We stopped at Bellis Fair on the way home. Was so nice. We got back to the trailer at like 11, and watched a few more episodes of 'Lost'.

Saturday - we slept in till 10!!! How sweet is that? Had a relaxed morning, then headed into town for lunch. Came home at 2:30, was happy to see the kids. I headed out an hour later to get some pointers from Tania for my grading.
Came home, got ready for my night out with the girls. Had a blast. We went to Earls, and then for triple chocolate fudge sundaes at McDonalds. They all went in a wonderful gift - a gift certificate to the Wild Orange!!! Hello! I am so spoiled. That and a bag of candy and gum from the Cadbury Queen ;) Thankyou guys soo much.
After that we all crashed in on Fern, who was innocently watching the game.

Sunday - I went to my regular class at 10am, then stayed and practised untill my grading which started at 11:30. It was good - I feel like I did well. I worked it. Man. Then we had a nice family Sunday. I went back to the dojo for cardio at 7pm. I am so completely and utterly sore - I cannot even tell you.

What a great weekend.

Wow, this is what happens when you dont post for almost a week!!
